About Us

partialuniform

Our troop is a boy-led organization that is sponsored by the Lake Zurich American Legion Post #964
and has been active since 1980. The Troop has played an important role in the development of young men in our community by providing a wide variety of activities and community service within a healthy learning environment.

We meet every Monday night from 7:15 pm to 8:45 pm at The Chapel, which is located at 330 South Old Rand Road, across from the Ela Public Library.  The troop meetings are held year round, with August being our bye month.

We camp at least one weekend a month, year round.  We attend a week-long summer camp at Owasippe Boy Scout Reservation in Whitehall Michigan.  Please see our calendar for more information.

Join Us

If you are a boy between ages 11 and 17 years old and love the outdoors, you should consider joining Boy Scouts. You do not have to be a cub scout to join, and most boys join in March or April of their 5th grade year. If you enjoyed Taft, you will love camping and the week-long summer camp. You will have opportunities to go canoeing, whitewater rafting, sailing, and skiing. During summer camp you can participate in rifle shooting, archery, leather working, horse-back riding, fishing, swimming, wood carving, pioneering, orienteering, first aid, and mammal studies. Along the way you will have fun meeting new friends, and we will train you to be a leader and be prepared for what life has in store for you. Your experiences will last a lifetime.
