High Adventure ’23
We visited:
- Silver Lake Sand Dunes
- Petite Point Au Sable Lighthouse, built in 1874
- Wilderness State Park
- Mackinac Island
- Soo Locks (Sault St. Marie, MI)
- Le Cheneaux Islands (camped and kayaked)
- Our outfitter, Woods & Waters, was absolutely top-shelf. We expected a good time; we left with great memories and as proficient kayakers.
We had the best weather of any Scout trip in years. No rain in Le Cheneaux Islands more than made up for a chilly ride to & from Mackinac Island on the ferry. We learned about midges and that Wilderness State Park really is the wilderness. While the Scouts weren’t a big fan of the pasty lunch on Government Island, the adults rated Lehto’s Pasties a solid win.
