Materials Needed For Masks

Mrs Lundsted is part of a charity sewing group, and they are sewing masks to help Chicagoland health care workers amid shortages.  If anyone happens to have 1/4″ wide flat elastic in their homes to donate please let us know.  Stores are sold out and they are in need of supplies.  Please email info@troop964.com

When: Sunday May 13th at 9am until finished. Approximate times: 9am-12pm at Legion. 12pm- until finished at Kuechmann Park.

What: We will be building and installing an announcement board for Kuechmann Park.

  • We will be working with power tools!

Where: American Legion and Kuechmann Park, 626 N Old Rand Rd, Lake Zurich, IL (just east of Bobbers)

  • We will start in the Legion parking lot to cut wood and partially assemble some items. We will then transport the materials to Kuechmann Park and install the board. Any adults with a pickup truck would be very helpful!
  • Younger scouts are recommended to come to the installation of the board at the park, not the Legion. We will be at the park around noon.

What to bring: Work gloves and eye protection. Battery operated power tools such as drills and saws. An impact driver would be helpful.

  • Food and drinks will be provided!

Backpacking – May 5th

Scouts must be at least 2nd Class or above.

On Saturday, May 5th we will be going to Kettle Moraine State Forest – Northern Unit to hike the Ice Age Trail.  We backpack in to a campsite and stay Saturday night.  REGISTER NOW!

Boards of Review

Our next court of honor is on June 6, so with it being so soon it is time for you to schedule your board of review! If you are close to your next rank and have had your scout master conference then you are eligible for a board of review. If you are going for the rank of Star or Life please plan your board of review as soon as possible.

Memorial Day Weekend Events

Saturday, May 28th, we will be having Flags on Graves. We will be placing flags on Veterans’ graves at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights and Lake Zurich Cemetery.

On Sunday, May 29th, we will have our flag raising ceremony at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights. If you were selected to participate please meet at the Legion at 9:45.

Monday, May 30th is the Memorial Day Parade. Please meet at the Legion.
